200

a new play written in collaboration with the local community

£11 adult (£9 concessions)

29th Aug and 5th Sept at St. Peter's Church Hall, Frimley

Two centuries. Countless voices. One community story.

A brand new play two hundred years in the making. Written in collaboration with the local community, celebrating the bicentennial of St Peter’s Church, Frimley.

She’s turning two hundred today. Her bones are woodwormed timber. Her joints are rust-set bolts. And she remembers everything.

200 follows Rosemaria - the beating heart of a Surrey village - older than memory itself, as she’s visited on her birthday by the stories she’s kept safe for two centuries. A winder of music boxes who loses her purpose overnight. A wife who writes letters to a husband who might never read them. A brother and sister squabbling over party bunting while their own family history spills out of a cardboard box.

Bold, funny, and unafraid to break your heart, 200 moves between fable and village hall, between wartime letters and wind-up toys, asking the same question in every era: what do we keep, what do we let go, and what stays with us no matter how much the world changes around it?

This is Brightlight Theatre’s most ambitious new work yet - an original piece, built from real history and pure imagination, performed in the church hall of the very building it celebrates.

Saturday 29th August at 7.30pm and again on Saturday 5th September at 2.00pm and 7.30pm at St. Peter’s Church Hall, Frimley, GU16 7AQ.

Tickets are £11 (£9 for under-16s & over-60s).

As with all Brightlight productions, at least 10% of ticket sales will be donated to local cancer charity, KatCanDo in support of the amazing work they do for our community
