Brightlight welcomes anyone aged 18 or over, whether you’re an experienced theatre-maker or completely new to the stage. Come along, meet the company and discover how you’d like to get involved.

No experience required. No auditions required. Just enthusiasm.

Whether you dream of stepping into the spotlight, creating theatre behind the scenes, or simply meeting a great group of people, there’s a place for you at Brightlight.

We’re an award-winning community theatre company based on the Surrey–Hampshire border, producing three main productions a year alongside festival work, workshops, social events and new writing projects. In recent years our productions have earned recognition at some of the UK’s leading drama festivals, including consecutive invitations to perform at the National Drama Festival.

But what really matters is how we work.

Brightlight is a welcoming company made up of people from all walks of life and levels of experience. Some members arrive with years of theatre experience. Others walk through the door having never set foot on a stage. Both are equally welcome.

You don’t need to be an actor to join us.

Our members direct, write, design, build sets, operate lighting and sound, stage manage productions, source props, create costumes, sell tickets, welcome audiences and much more. Every production is a team effort, and there are countless ways to get involved.

Alongside our productions, we regularly run workshops covering acting, directing, writing, improv and technical theatre. We also organise theatre trips, quizzes, pub nights, barbecues and social events throughout the year.

Most importantly, you don’t need to audition to become a member. Come along, meet us, see what we’re about and decide whether we’re the right fit for you.

Membership: £40 per year (£30 concessions)
